Description

This document describes the activities that are planned from January until December 2006. The main goal for this year is twofold.

  • First, conceptualize the project, and write adequate documentation so that other people can learn more on Rebag.
  • Second, deliver a first version of Rebag Ware, the software demonstrator to support Rebag.

Documentation

Documentation on Reputation-Based governance - Documentation on Rebag Ware.

Organization

The non-software activities will be carried out by Lucio Picci. The production of Rebag Ware is outsourced to E-Learning Lab. The specifications of Rebag Ware will be decided jointly by LP and Tek Tank.

Planning

The project is split into .. main activities, or "Work packages" (WP).

WP 1 - Conceptualization - Manager: Lucio Picci

Layout the conceptual issues, to be used for: a) Planning of Rebag Ware b) writing documents and papers

Deliverables:

WP 2 - Communication - Manager: Lucio Picci

Use output of WP 1 to tell other people about the project ant its progresses.

Deliverables:

    • Meetings
    • Conferences
      • Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, March (cancelled by the organizers)
      • Rome, September

WP 3 - Rebag Ware - Manager: Cristiano Leoni

Build a sowftare demonstrator to support Reputation-Based Governance

Deliverables:

WP 4 - Management - Manager: Lucio Picci

This is a dummy Work Package for general management activities.

Budget

The budget for 2006, as of 5 Jan 2006, is:

  • One full time equivalent programmer
  • Around 3 months of LP

Supplies

The facilities of E-Learning Lab and of the University of Bologna will be used free of charge (hardware, Internet connectivity).

Risks

The two main goals of the project (conceptualization and software production) have a one way interdependence: if the conceptualization fails, Rebag Ware fails. However, the opposite is not necessarily true. So the biggest risk is a relative failure in developing the model.

List of risks:

  • Failure in developing the model

Probability: 0.3, Impact: 10 (from 0 to 10)

  • Failure in devoloping a prototype of Rebag Ware (conditional on a good model being available)

Probability: 0.2, Impact: 5 (from 0 to 10)

  • Failure in communicating Rebag

Probability: 0.5, Impact: 8 (from 0 to 10)

  • Failure in getting other people to join in the effort

Probability: 0.7, Impact: 7 (from 0 to 10) (It will probably take some time, the effort must be persistent)
